Jupiter Return

A Jupiter Return occurs when transiting Jupiter returns to the same zodiac sign and degree as your natal Jupiter, marking a cycle of growth and expansion.

A Jupiter Return is a transit that happens every 12 years when Jupiter completes its orbit around the Sun and returns to the exact position it occupied at the moment of your birth. It marks the beginning of a new 12-year cycle focused on growth, opportunity, and expansion in the areas ruled by Jupiter in your chart.

How it works

Jupiter takes about 12 years to travel through all 12 zodiac signs. When it returns to its natal degree, it activates the themes of the house and sign where your natal Jupiter sits. For example, if your natal Jupiter is at 10° Aries in the 10th house, your Jupiter Return occurs when transiting Jupiter reaches 10° Aries. This event lasts for several weeks as Jupiter moves within a few degrees of that exact point. You can track this transit using your natal chart and current ephemeris.

In practice

During a Jupiter Return, you may experience a sense of optimism, new opportunities, and a desire to expand your horizons. The specific area of life depends on the house: in the 1st house, it could bring personal growth; in the 7th, relationship opportunities; in the 10th, career advancement. It is a favorable time to start new projects, travel, or pursue education. However, Jupiter can also exaggerate, so avoid overconfidence or overcommitment.
