Transit

A transit is the current position of a planet in the sky as it moves through the zodiac and interacts with your birth chart.

In astrology, a transit refers to the current position of a planet as it moves through the zodiac. When a transiting planet forms an angle (aspect) to a planet or point in your birth chart, it triggers a theme or event tied to that natal placement. Transits are a key tool for understanding how the present moment relates to your personal blueprint.

How it works

Astrologers track the real-time motion of planets — from the Moon (fast, changing every few days) to Saturn (slow, lasting months) to Pluto (generational, lasting years). For example, when transiting Jupiter crosses your natal Sun, it often brings a period of growth and confidence. A transit of Saturn to your natal Moon might feel heavy, forcing you to take emotional responsibility. The closer the aspect, the stronger the effect. You can see today's transits in your Astraly calendar or ask the AI astrologer to explain specific ones.

In practice

When reading transits, focus on the planet's nature, the natal point it touches, and the aspect type. A harmonious aspect (trine, sextile) usually brings ease; a challenging one (square, opposition) asks for adjustment. Retrogrades slow the transit's effect, making it more internal. Notice which house the transiting planet is in — that area of life will be activated. For example, transiting Mars in your 4th house might stir up family tensions or motivate home improvements.
