What it means

Sagittarius is the sign of exploration, study and meaning. A New Moon here invites you to plan a trip, enrol in something, start reading differently or reconnect with a belief that gives you direction.

The risk is overpromising. Aim high, then write down the first realistic step — the booking, the application, the first chapter.

A New Moon happens when the Moon and Sun meet in the same degree. The Moon is dark, and in astrology it marks the start of a monthly cycle: a quiet moment to choose a direction, set an intention or start something small. Results build over the next two weeks, up to the Full Moon in the same half of the zodiac's story. You do not need a ritual — a clear sentence about what you want to grow is enough.

The sky around this New Moon

A tense angle to Neptune blurs facts. Double-check what you are told and wait before deciding. A tense angle to Saturn brings delays or a reality check. Slow down and do the necessary work. Venus joins the lunation, softening it and turning attention to love, beauty and money.

Jupiter, the traditional ruler of Sagittarius, is at 22°49′ Cancer, retrograde, at the moment of the New Moon. The house it falls in for you is where this lunation turns practical — see "by rising sign" below.

Nearby stations: Neptune turns direct on December 10 at 29°22′ Pisces. A planet standing still close to a lunation tends to make its themes louder for a few days.

Retrograde at this New Moon: Jupiter and Uranus. Their topics favour review and repair over brand-new launches.

Lunations in the same sign come in pairs about six months apart. What you start at this New Moon reaches its peak at the Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 31, 2026, at 9°56′ Sagittarius — a natural checkpoint for whatever you set in motion now.
